Day 8: Rome, Italy

For two whole years Paul stayed there in his own rented house and welcomed all who came to see him. He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ – with all boldness and without hindrance! – Acts 28: 30-31

You will briefly visit the island of Malta before going to Rome as Paul was shipwrecked there when he encountered violent winter storms at sea on his way to the capital of the empire. You will live in a rented house like Paul did when he was confined under an easy house arrest in Rome. During his time there, Roman Christian communities, formed by Peter, were his most common guests.

After several years under house arrest, he was released and continued visiting Christian communities in Greece and Asia Minor.

Other places to visit:

· The Basilica of Paul, where he was buried

· The Spanish Steps

· St. Peter’s Square

· The Colosseum
